If the woman who spawned you is defined in whole, or in part, by her need to vigorously shake her tail-feather, you should take her to this show on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10. Orgone, the eight-piece soul, funk and Afro-beat explosion from Los Angeles, is a new-school practitioner of keyboard-driven, horn-punctuated dance grooves made famous in the late ’60s and early ’70s. The band makes an infectious brand of party-enabling music that’s damn near impossible not to like. Its new full-length release, “Beyond the Sun,” on Shanachie Records, is an uplifting listen full of funkified freedoms. Helping the group dispense with physical inhibitions is the hip-hopped funk of the New York-based trio Sophistafunk. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $8-$10. thecamel.org.
