Unlike Russian President Vladimir Putin, Maximum Zero is giving the motherland a good name. The tongue-in-cheek, Richmond party rockers are a communist manifesto of new-waved, dance floor enticements. The group’s enchanting brand of disco-ed socialism mixes Devo, Van Halen and the B-52s in a philosophical appropriation of Electric Six’s deviously playful sarcasms. Suave tunes featured on its website such as “Coolest Parties,” “Big Merganser” and “Popular Lenigrand” are instant hits I find impossible to resist. Known for its interactive performances, Maximum Zero works to prove that its members are the sex masters you want for a puckish proletariat party at Fallout on Thursday, July 28. Joining them will be bohemian hip-hoppers SiiX7. Doors open at 9 p.m. Suggested admission is $5. falloutrva.com.
