Is Leon Bridges famous? In this technological age, it’s hard to tell. Given the man’s immense talents, I’ll just assume that he is, because if he isn’t, the world is more messed up than I thought. To those unfamiliar with his work, the Fort Worth, Texas-based guitarist and singer makes a blissful brand of Sam Cook soul that you don’t hear every day. His must-have 2015 release, “Coming Home,” is a cross-generational delight. Songs such as “Smooth Sailin’,” “Better Man” and “Pull Way” are gospel-tinged, goose-bump-makers, and the chance to see them performed live shouldn’t be missed by anyone who’s moved by Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding or Solomon Burke. You can do just that when Leon Bridges brings it all home Sunday, Oct. 2, at the National. Opening is the old-meets-new-school sound of London-born British singer and multi-instrumentalist, Lianne La Havas. 7:30 p.m. $39.50-$49.50. thenationalva.com.
