Few things in music weed people out more than drum and bass. It’s a dance music that people either love or hate with equal passion. Born in the clubs of England in the early ‘90s, the genre of electronic music also known as jungle is defined by throbbing, subsonic bass and speedy, break-beat tempos. Aphrodite is one of original drum and bass practitioners and for my money, still one of the best. A dance floor innovator, the influential DJ and producer shakes the rafters as only he can at the Canal Club on Friday, Dec. 11. Joining him for the night in the low end is Squnto, the body propulsion electronic-dance creation of Massachusetts DJ Eric Squnto Roth.
