Come celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Eppington Foundation, Inc. Visit Eppington and experience colonial life in early 18th century Chesterfield County. Eppington is a circa 1768 plantation named after Francis Eppes VI, who built the estate.Tour the house, join in Colonial activities, listen to period music, colonial dancing, storytelling, enjoy craft demonstrations and a relaxing carriage ride. Major General Lafayette, a Revolutionary War hero and friend to Thomas Jefferson and Francis Eppes VI will be visiting. Children can enjoy period games and candle making. A cemetery tour and colonial militia musket demonstrations will be offered. Learn about the variety of grapes that are growing at the experimental vineyard and enjoy a wine tasting. Food and beverages will be available. Admission and parking are free.There also will be an open house at historic Pleasant View School, an early twentieth century African-American one-room schoolhouse, located at 18431 River Road.
