Noted public historian, researcher, lecturer, author and filmmaker Elvatrice Belsches presents "An Overview of Black Women in Virginia and the Battle for the Ballot," Virginia's Black female suffragists’ role in the Woman's Suffrage Movement. After Q&A she’ll sign her book, Black America Series: Richmond, Virginia, ". . . a meticulously researched history that spans several centuries." The 2021 update includes "new and corrective scholarship...." Arcadia Publishing Belsches, contributor to the African American National Biography, in-studio researcher for Steven Spielberg's LINCOLN, she received Virginia Humanities’ $10,000 grant for research, publication, documentary, and creation of oral archives surrounding educator Virginia E. Randolph.
