People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, fans of using brutal images of mistreated animals to endorse the vegetarian lifestyle, came to Sixth and Broad streets June 20 with a more seductive aesthetic, to the amusement of corn-dog-eating construction workers.
Activist Hope Round, sporting a bandanna and "volcano red" nail polish and labeled like a butcher's chart "breast," "shoulder" and the ever-alluring "soup bone" represents PETA's efforts to associate vegetarians with sexiness. This includes almost-nude ads of Pamela Anderson, annual "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" awards and on-the-street campaigns.
