First generation Colombians living in New York, Combo Chimbita describes its music as “tropical futurism.” A sizzling debut album, “Abya Yala,” was released last summer and draws from cumbia, salsa and reggae, sparked by the fierce vocals of lead singer Carolina Oliveros. Also on this diverse bill are talented local hip-hop artist McKinley Dixon and the theatrical electronic noise and pop artist, Dazeases, aka London Perry. This sweaty night of eclectic sounds is being presented by Citrus City Records. 9 p.m. $8 in advance, $10 at the door. strangematterrva.com.
