Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo is Right Said Fred for those who missed being too sexy in the early ’90s. There’s always been a wholesome sleaze to the group’s music, and it still creates sweet, dance-floor nothings free of the irony that LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris and Electric Six used to spice up their sardonic booty bumpers. The songs are funky, flirtatious fun, and the duo’s new release, “White Women,” doesn’t take its retro futures too seriously. Chromeo’s only goal is to enable a party and it does so with the same giddy, playful charm upon which George Clinton built his career. Chromeo brings its sexy, throbbing gristles to the National on Tuesday, May 13. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $22-$27. thenationalva.com.
