Celebrities: Proof That God Does Play Favorites



Anyone could just tell that Harry Hamlin (above) was a dancing man from the way he decapitated Medusa in "Clash of the Titans." Or that Joey Lawrence could really cut a rug from his monosyllabic dealings with Blossom. But Jerry Springer? Jerry "More Fights, Less Teeth" Springer? Has someone peed in the talent pool? So it is that Springer joins the cast of the first three seasons of "Dancing With the Stars" for the tour through Richmond, Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the Richmond Coliseum. There's also a scattering of boy-band debris, Joey McIntyre and Drew Lachey, along with music folk Willa Ford and Sara Evans, soap star and Hamlin spouse Lisa Rinna (above) and then of course the dancers who drive the stars around the stage, like Cheryl Burke, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff. If, as it seems, culture seems to be collapsing into the black hole of reality TV, look for Sandra Day O'Connor and the guy who played the rear half of Snuffleupagus to pair up for next year's tour.
