Candye Kane at the Camel

Thursday, Aug. 16

Blues diva Candye Kane has been called “the toughest girl alive” because of her big voice and bigger attitude. She’s been nominated for numerous National Blues Foundation Awards, including the B.B. King entertainer of the year and best contemporary blues female. Her latest CD, “Sister Vagabond,” was released last August and immediately hit No.1 on the Living Blues magazine charts. Kane’s live shows have been called something of a blues revival, where she honors the women of the past while adding her own style to the mix. Candye Kane performs at the Camel on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 8 p.m. $15. (All advance ticket purchasers will be placed in a drawing for a copy of “Sister Vagabond.”) rivercityblues.org.
