Bev Reynolds Is True Arts Leader

I was thrilled to see your story about a second VCU art gallery with a vision to elevate Richmond's tremendous visual arts presence and recognize the critical role of the School of the Arts ("VCU Art School to Build Second Art Gallery," Street Talk, July 2).

The one person who was not mentioned in the article is the civic leader behind this vision, Bev Reynolds. A gallery befitting the school's tremendous achievements and stature has been her dream and she has worked tirelessly to make it a reality.

When we look at Richmond's evolving appreciation for the visual arts over the last 30 years, Reynolds' passion and dogged commitment to the highest standards must be recognized and celebrated.
