Bettye LaVette at the Tin Pan

Thursday, July 25

George Jones called her “a singer’s singer,” and there are few genres of American music that the great song interpreter Bettye LaVette, 73, hasn’t mastered. Her last album covered Bob Dylan tunes, and the Michigan native was nominated for best Americana album and best traditional R&B performance at the 2018 Grammy Awards. She’ll be performing an intimate show of mesmerizing songs from her 57-year career. $42.50 in advance, $47.50 at the door. 8 p.m.
