Best Waiting Room

Betty Baugh’s Animal Clinic

If the portrait of Black Dog, the beloved stray chow who roamed the West End for years, doesn’t interest you, check out the geckos and iguanas in terrariums. Some have lived at the veterinary office for 13 years. Cages by the walls also have a few cats awaiting adoption, like Maude, a sweet gray tabby. Sharon Hubbard, practice manager, says that more than a thousand cats and dogs have been adopted out of Betty Baugh’s. “Hopefully, you won’t have to wait long,” she says, “but if you do, you’ve got plenty to look at.”
