There's something to be said for consistency. It's no secret that the dining scene is a bit of a revolving door, with restaurants opening and closing seemingly every week. So when an establishment is able to make a name for itself, build a loyal following and maintain a level of success for two and a half decades (and counting), clearly somebody over there is doing something right.

Buckhead's Chop House has been serving the best steaks in the Richmond area since 1994, and it hasn't changed much since opening. Crisp white linens still cover the tables, and shrimp cocktail still arrives in a tall, delicate martini glass. An 11-ounce filet mignon topped with gorgonzola and toasted walnuts, and grilled filet medallions in a vermouth demi-glace with lump crab are among the favorites of the steaks, and other entrees include pork chops with apple-cranberry chutney, rack of lamb with port and cherry demi-glace, broiled Scottish salmon and Chesapeake-style crabcakes.

And since it's already an indulgent night out, why not top it off with a slice of pecan pie, lemon curd and mascarpone cheesecake or vanilla bean creme brulee with fresh berries?
