Second Place: Glow Med Spa

Third Place: Scents of Serenity Organic Spa

Voters apparently have a clear plan, considering this year's winners: Buy sandals at Saxon Shoes and then step across the breezeway at Short Pump Mall, pass through the red door and indulge in a pedicure. Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Spa, a century-old national chain, remains readers' top pick. It may be because behind those doors lies an oasis of pampering: massage, manicures, pedicures and facials using the salon's proprietary Arden Red Door spa line. It may be because it carries the full line of Kérastase products, or because all staff, even the most experienced, receives at least two weeks of training before taking the floor. "We seek the best of the best," says Bree Viscia, the spa's general manager. Readers catapulted Glow Med Spa onto the list this year. The day spa, with three locations, including Carytown, offers a full line of treatments from Botox to Brazilians with time for a Banana Leaf Cooling massage in between. Scents of Serenity bills itself as the only local spa using all organic products.
