When work, school or just the experience of navigating Short Pump traffic starts to weigh you down, Red Door Spa has just the thing or things to help you relax a little. The Short Pump branch of the century-old national chain of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas draws customers from as far away as Charlottesville. Its range of menu options includes facial skin care, massages, manicures and pedicures, waxing and aromatherapy, along with a full-service hair salon. "Our philosophy involves going above and beyond to wow our guests every visit," says Bree Viscia, general manager of the spa in Short Pump. "Our technicians truly care about our guests … and trying to make their experience one they won't receive anywhere else in Richmond." If you'd rather go with a locally owned option, Nesbit Salon in the Fan takes the edge off of finals week by offering a 10-percent discount to anyone with a valid student ID. Its spa includes massages, waxing, skin-care and package options. South of the river, Rituals Salon-Spa on Huguenot Road gets high grades from voters.
