Three Sheets to the Wind

Second Place: Red Light Romeo

Third Place: Silver Bullets

If you doubted that Richmond loves its yacht rock, look no further than this category, where Three Sheets to the Wind has dominated votes in recent years with its smooth deflowering of AM gold staples from the ’70s and ’80s. Need your Christopher Cross or Hall & Oates fix? Topper Dandy, Danny Marnier, Sonny Pockett and crew have your back, not to mention a stunning set of crisp white pants ready to set sail. Red Light Romeo (not to be confused with another local band, Red Light Rodeo and its country soul) plays your favorite rock and pop hits with sports bar gusto -- these guys will do anything to rock the party. Impressively, they are capable of playing such diverse artists as Johnny Cash, One Republic, Taylor Swift, Blink 182, and even Slipknot in one show. Silver Bullets bills itself as “Richmond’s most diverse cover band,” and a look at the website may confirm this: The band plays music as varied as Nazareth, UB40, Rida and Bruno Mars. Oh, it does “Jesse’s Girl” by Rick Springfield for good measure.
