Best revivalist couple

Michael Hild and Laura Dyer Hild

Entrepreneurs and property owners who are helping to remake Old Town Manchester, this married couple has some cool plans for its huge new grocery store, at the former Siegel’s Supermarket on Hull Street. As part of a bid to stand out among the competition, they’re planning to bring back some historic local brands, including Climax Soda, a pale dry ginger ale that dates back to the 1930s, and somehow makes us both thirsty and frisky. Also, they’re bringing back the less frisky-sounding Valentine’s Meat Juice products, once a health elixir in the 1800s, and the Pin Money line of pickles. The couple currently is filing trademark registration applications. Call it a retro grocery shopping experience that only a true Richmonder can appreciate.
