Best Restaurant for a Craft Cocktail

First Place: The Rogue Gentlemen

618 N. First St.

Second Place: The Roosevelt

Third Place: Saison

No bar in town can touch the Rogue Gentlemen’s brilliantly designed cocktail menus — from the “Rogue Geographic” to the Richard Gere magnum opus. “They define who we are better than any one specific drink,” owner John Maher says. When he opened Rogue a little more than three years ago, Richmond’s cocktail renaissance was only starting, and he helped expose customers to complex drinks with crazy flavors and kitchen ingredients. “Now we’re moving back to a simpler style with the same quality execution, but fewer ingredients,” he says. “They’re more user-friendly.”
