The craft beer party started at Legend Brewery more than 20 years ago, but Hardywood Park Craft Brewery invited a new crowd. Food truck courts, live music and lots of other events introduced this town to beer that's both interesting and exceptionally good. A $28 million expansion is planned in Goochland County, which will spike production and make voters' favorite beer available to an even wider audience. It also has another taproom and brewing space in Charlottesville in the works to bring its specialty beers to the thirsty folks at the University of Virginia. Ardent Craft Ales — which features a bustling beer garden — along with Isley Brewing Co., made Scott's Addition a beer destination all the way back in 2014. And Strangeways proves that burlesque and a good brew will make people go anywhere, even to an industrial area off Dabney Road.
