While her résumé includes portraying jealous flappers and aspiring assassins, it was Grey Garrett’s performance as Judy Garland in Triangle’s “The Boy From Oz” that won her a best supporting actress award from the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle last fall. It was a return to a favorite character — she previously portrayed Garland in Swift Creek Mill Theatre’s “Beyond the Rainbow: Garland at Carnegie Hall” three years ago. Recently seen as the wild child Izzy in Cadence Theatre Company’s “Rabbit Hole,” Garrett’s versatility, acting chops and powerhouse voice obviously leave an impression.
