Second Place: Aly Wepplo
Third Place: Laine Satterfield
Melissa Johnston Price holds the top spot solo after sharing it last year, and she's done the work to earn it. Star turns in "Becky's New Car" and "August: Osage County" showcased the veteran actress's ability to mix sharp comic chops with raw vulnerability. "Car" had her constantly breaking the fourth wall, endearing herself to audiences in a sometimes surprisingly personal way. New to the list: Wepplo, a staple supporting player in local musicals, perhaps finally getting the recognition she deserves for a dramatic turn in last summer's "Wait Until Dark." Satterfield returns in the third spot after a blockbuster year, including a headlining role as Maggie the Cat in Firehouse's "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and being named best Actress in a play by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle.
