The National’s opening made Richmond feel like a real city. Finally, we had a good-sized venue for mid- to top-level acts to play in the heart of the city — a cavernous hall with multiple bars and room to dance and slosh around. While the quality of acts is mixed, the “upcoming show announcement” on Facebook still brings music fans a rush of the most precious commodity in life — hope.
