116 S. Addison St.
Second Place: Crossroads Coffee & Ice Cream
Third Place: Black Hand Coffee Co.
Say what you want about Richmond's coffee cred, but we didn't become a real coffee town until early 2010 when Lamplighter set up shop on South Addison Street, and the rest of Strawberry Street was reduced to no more than a means to get there. Now there are Lamplighter outposts in Scott's Addition and on Morris Street, ensuring that your Tall Bike fix is always close at hand. In addition to its tasty coffee, Crossroads offers a welcoming staff, pet-friendly policy and weekly music. It also gets major points for its breakfast cabarets, game nights and bike-in movies. Black Hand Coffee has turned a former Laundromat into a laid-back destination for Museum District caffeine fiends.
