Erika Mihalovich-Lacy

Bombshell Brazilian Waxing & Beauty Lounge
10 S. Crenshaw Ave.

Second Place: Rebekah Howard, Serendipity

Third Place: Leah Ley, Bombshell

Clients love Mihalovich-Lacy, whom voters again selected their favorite. It could be her unflappable nature or, more likely, she’s just that good with dry cuts and color. In the last year, she says she’s moved her color process almost exclusively into balayange, a French technique of painting color rather than using foils. “It’s more natural, more subtle without any harsh lines or chunkiness,” she says. Serendipity’s Howard, also a favorite in the best salon category, has been a stylist for 12 years. She’s a big believer in ongoing education to stay up to date. Women these days are favoring more natural color, textured short cuts and, as always, she says, the long, beachy wave. Bombshell’s Ley is actually an aesthetician whose expertise is waxing, with her specialty the Brazilian for women. “My joke is that I do do hair,” she says. “I just do two styles: bald and Mohawk.”
