Second Place: Sedona Taphouse

Third Place: Capital Ale House, Midlothian

It's been difficult for anyone to top O'Toole's in this category. Since 1966, the South Side bar has welcomed everyone, whether they're regulars or the occasional social drinker. It's the most neighborhood-y of neighborhood bars. No pretense here. Everyone knows everyone. And if they don't, then they quickly become drinking buddies. Irish folk and rock bands play frequently — usually to a packed house. It's a place where you want to stay and enjoy the good times (and drink to forget the bad times). When South Siders want to try a different bar (it happens), Capital Ale House's Midlothian location offers a reliable brand and a huge selection. Another long list of brews can be found at the popular Sedona Taphouse.
