Poker, WrestleMania, line dancing, karaoke and a live music roster that's no joke, Cullen's Cover provides an array of ever-changing entertainment options. They treat us so well and it isn't even because I'm with the band, says Laura Snipes — who is, in fact, with the band. Her husband's Perfect Mistake plays at Cullen's regularly. It's a great place to just stop in and hang, Snipes says, and the owners are great — never any drama. A prevalent thought, it seems, because marketing materials proclaim: "and as always leave your drama at home and come enjoy your night!" Cullen's has been open for almost four years in the Mechanicsville market. Owner Rob Hazelwood maintains that it's definitely the atmosphere, great bands and steak nights that keep everyone coming back. "Our staff believes people work hard for their money and we want them to enjoy themselves when they come out," he says. Marty's Grill was built for mingling, shows plenty of sports and offers such theme nights as seafood Mondays and she-crab soup Fridays. And with a location on Midlothian Turnpike as well as Bell Creek Road in Mechanicsville, Sportspage Bar & Grille promises sports and a family-friendly vibe.
