How big is West End Antiques Mall? So big the staff uses walkie-talkies to communicate. So big that with 250 individual dealers leasing space, there still isn't enough room, so owner Matt Earle and manager Judy Splawn just made room for more. "We must get at least 20 calls a day from people who want to sell items," Earle says. Splawn adds: "People think all the best antiques are gone. They're not. There are still wonderful things out in the world." That so many wind up here — china, furniture, toys, art, aisle-upon-aisle of beautiful things — and that they can be put on layaway makes this tucked-away strip mall behind the Staples Mill Road Holiday Inn a regular voter favorite. Class and Trash and Sheppard Street Antiques have smaller kingdoms of no less lovely objects, many of which you can find and covet on their Facebook pages.
