A fairly recent newcomer in the animal hospital field, River City Animal Hospital wins praise from customers around its West End location and beyond. And one of the owners, Anthony O’Sullivan, who opened the practice with his veterinarian wife, Heather, in 2014, also was named best veterinarian by voters. They try to personalize attention for ailing pets, and have added a third veterinarian, Lee Ann Jones, to their team. Another top contender, Betty Baugh’s, takes a holistic approach to animal treatment. And Virginia Tech vet school grad Nan Jack and her team have been serving the Church Hill area since 2003 through the Church Hill Animal Hospital.
