Second Place: Old Dominion Club (ODC)

Third Place: Fallout

Open only from Thursday through Sunday, the Mansion Room at Fielden's looks innocent enough, situated on Broad Street across from Pleasants Hardware. But when other clubs are closing down, this place is just getting started. Go inside and you just might lose yourself till you stumble outside into the blinding sunrise. Fielden's bills itself as catering to "adults desiring a private activities center after most of Richmond has fallen asleep." You'll find several floors of fun, pickup pool games, DJ Matt Busch and Hot 100.9 nights. But you must be a member, or come with one. Old Dominion Club, or ODC, wouldn't be much fun if we told you everything. We've been there and we still don't really know anything. And for that matter, a phone number listed for the place is out of order. Fallout in Shockoe Bottom is very much in business, but stresses that it isn't isn't an after-hours club. Perhaps voters think the alternative club, with a membership and limited entry nights, makes you feel like you've walked into a world where time isn't an issue? After all, this is a place with a dress code that welcomes the bold, offering theme nights and encouraging such fetish wear as leather, lace and, according to its website, "Prince's entire wardrobe."
