Since emerging in 2006 with breakout albums “Everything All the Time” and “Cease to Begin,” indie-rock darlings Band of Horses took the music scene by storm with singles such as “The Funeral” and “Our Swords” making their way into commercials and television shows. In the following years, the band began earning more commercial success and critical approval, including a Grammy win, sold-out shows and a steady increase of new fans — including R&B artist Cee-Lo Green, who covered the band’s “No One’s Gonna Love You” for his album. The group’s latest effort, the more live-sounding “Mirage Rock,” was released in September and already is making critics’ best of 2012 lists. Band of Horses performs at the National on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. $25-$30. thenationalva.com.
