You probably know Aziz Ansari as government employee Tom Haverford on the Emmy-nominated NBC series, “Parks and Recreation,” where his hilarious work has earned him consistent critical praise. Raised in Columbia, S.C., the Los Angeles-based comedian has had bit parts in numerous movies (“Funny People” and “Get Him to the Greek”) and other noteworthy sitcoms. Entertainment Weekly named him one of its “Breakout TV Stars,” TV Guide called him a “Scene Stealer” and Yahoo TV listed him No. 1 on “TV’s Most Valuable Performers of the Fall Season.” Not enough? There’s Rolling Stone’s “Funniest Man Under 30” accolade and Paste Magazine’s inclusion in its “Top 10 Comedians of the Decade.” Apparently Richmond likes him too, because Ansari had to add a show here because of high demand. The “Buried Alive: an Evening of Bewilderment and Delusion” tour comes to Richmond CenterStage on Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. $35. richmondcenterstage.com.
