Polish-American pianist Anna Kijanowska has been called the “Tina Turner of classical music” by Brazilian critics, and her performances celebrate the diversity of today’s global classical scene. An internationally recognized educator, her passion for presenting Polish music to the world earns her invitations as a visiting artist around the globe, where she introduces rarely performed pieces of Polish repertoire. She’s appeared at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall and the Kennedy Center, as well as in venues such as the Amazon basin in Brazil and the Himalayas in Nepal. Expect to hear pieces by Karol Szymanowski, Lei Liang and Frederic Chopin, among others, when Anna Kijanowska performs at University of Richmond’s Modlin Center on Monday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. Free. modlin.richmond.edu.
