Ann Beretta, Fun Size and Sundials at the Broadberry

Saturday, Sept. 20. 7 p.m.

Ann Beretta is one of the main reasons Richmond is on the American underground punk-rock map. Born from the ashes of the influential Richmond band Inquisition in 1996, only Avail in the local hardcore world created a larger carbon footprint from touring. Officially broken up since the fall of 2004, the group plays a rare reunion show at the Broadberry on Saturday, Sept. 20, with lead singer, guitarist and soul of the group Rob Huddleston joined by bassist Donovan Greer and drummer Russ Jones for a high-charged romp through their Clash-inspired oldies and newer offerings. Joining them for the night of ’90s Richmond resurrections are recently reconstituted pop-punkers Fun Size and the old-school, new-school sound of Sundials. The slam-dancing to the oldies begins 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10-$12. Advance ticket purchasers online get a free digital download of a split EP, containing original and new songs by Ann Beretta and Fun Size. thebroadberry.com.
