This has been Susan Lucci's year, and she's on a roll.

It began when she won for Outstanding Lead Actress at the 1999 Daytime Emmy Awards. Lucci plays Erica Kane on ABC-TV's "All My Children." For years she had been Emmy's jokey bridesmaid, always nominated but never winning. Since her big win, she's made her Broadway debut as Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun," and her caricature has gone up at Sardi's Restaurant in New York.

It's not that Lucci had never won anything before. Among the statuettes on her mantel are a 1992 People's Choice Award, the 1993 Soap Opera Award for Outstanding Lead Actress, and the 1994 Crystal Apple Award. In 1999, Soap Opera Digest chose her as "Woman of the Year."

Now she's been picked to be host of "The 27th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," to be presented live on ABC-TV from Radio City Music Hall on Friday, May 19, from 9 to 11 p.m.

Presenters on the awards show will include Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah Winfrey, Kathie Lee Gifford, Donny and Marie Osmond, Martin Short, Alex Trebek, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar and Lisa Ling, along with stars from 10 daytime dramas.

Jones, Vieira, Behar and Ling, co-hosts of "The View," are nominated for Outstanding Talk Show Host, competing against O'Donnell, Gifford and Regis Philbin, Short, and the Osmonds. Trebek is nominated for Outstanding Game Show
