400th Anniversary of the Conflict Between the Appamatuck Tribe and Sir Thomas Dale’s Colonists

When: Sat., Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 2013

Historical interpreters recreate the life and times of the forgotten tribes of the Powhatan Indian chiefdom – the Appamatuck people – a group of more than 300 Virginia Indians who once dominated what is now Chesterfield County. A small-scale tactical demonstration will show how Virginia Indian warriors and English militia would have fought during the many skirmishes between 1610 and 1613.

Price: $6-$8; children younger than 12 are free.
