Hamaganza is one great big giant mess. In its 19th year, it’s a cringe-inducing foray into rank amateurism. It’s godawful, if not outright painful to witness at times — but it just wouldn’t be a Richmond Christmas without it. And that’s why Hamaganza is always such a good time. The always alluring and seductive Dirt Woman hosts the adults-only variety show, which features scantily clad dancers, little people, drag queens, politicians and local celebrities who aren’t necessarily trying to dazzle you with their talent. They just want to have fun. And like the money and hams they collect for the Central Virginia Foodbank, now known as FeedMore, fun is always delivered to those in need. Hamaganza happens Friday, Dec. 13, at Poe’s Pub, and Saturday, Dec. 14, at Lulu’s. Doors open at 9 both nights. Admission is $10 or a donation of canned ham.
