17th Street Farmer's Market; Dairy Day; The Thai Room; Valhalla Vineyards


'Tis the season of plump squash, juicy tomatoes and crispy greens. Head down to Shockoe Bottom this weekend for the 17th Street Farmer's Market.

The weekly Saturday Market is for the eclectic at heart, with the exciting flavor of specialty foods and creative arts and crafts, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Dec. 16.

Shockoe Open Heirloom Market showcases antiques and collectibles every Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Dec. 17.

Get your white mustache on at Dairy Day, the Virginia dairy celebration. This family favorite features a petting zoo, milking contest, free dairy products, activities and entertainment by Kings of Swing, 1-10 p.m. at Dogwood Dell in Byrd Park. June 10.
