Richmond Restaurant Week is upon us, arriving with spring, azaleas and pollen, starting today, April 20 and ending on Sunday, April 26.
You can get away from the pollen and get a table inside with 41 restaurants to choose from — restaurants from Acacia Midtown to Zeus Gallery Café are participating. Each three-course prix fixe meal costs $29.15 (up $4 from last year). Of that amount, $2 will go to restaurants to cover rising food costs and $2 is donated to FeedMore. Last year, the event raised $66,000.
Acacia Midtown’s Aline Reitzer founded and has spearheaded the event for 14 years, and since that time, Richmond Restaurant Week has raised over $400,000.
What to expect for your $29.15? You can choose from entrées that include Amour Wine Bistro’s Polyface Farm coq au vin blanc on egg pasta, The Magpie’s fennel-smoked Scottish salmon with red pea succotash, gazpacho and pea shoots, to new participant Torero Tapas Bar & Grill’s hanger steak with chimichurri sauce and Yukon gold potatoes — among offerings from all those other 38 restaurants.
