“Tonight a Clown Will Travel Time” at Art6 Gallery

Sunday, June 23. 8 p.m.

Pittsburgh-based theater company Miniature Curiosa explores childhood nostalgia with the eyeballs (and experience) of adulthood. Using low-fi technology, puppetry and nonlinear storytelling, the collective presents fast-moving, fast-talking, live-action comic-book storytelling. In “Tonight a Clown Will Travel Time,” the group tells the story of clown, archivist and amateur scientist Albert Billows and his time machine. Followed by the FBI, haunted by a bloody execution of a giant hoofed animal and inspired by a mysterious woman from a century earlier, Billows escapes to the past to change the course of human history and finally do something useful with his life. The performance involves live-projection technology, toy theater, repurposed overhead projectors and a canopy filled with LEDs, among other surprises. “Tonight a Clown Will Travel Time” takes place at Art6 Gallery on Sunday, June 23, at 8 p.m. $10. Not intended for young audiences.
