Toad the Wet Sprocket at Short Pump Town Center

Thursday, June 21

Joining the wave of the angst-ridden grunge rock bands in the early 1990s, Toad the Wet Sprocket’s commercial breakthrough hit single, “All I Want,” became a Top 20 hit and pushed its album “Fear” to platinum sales. The group released a number of albums after that, but none managed to sustain mainstream appeal. The group ultimately split in 1998, and singer Glen Phillips launched a solo career, issuing a string of releases. In December 2010 the group announced its official reunion as a full-time working band, and by the following April, Toad had released a new greatest hits album titled “All You Want.” Since, the group has started writing songs for its first new studio album since 1997’s “Coil.” Toad the Wet Sprocket performs at Short Pump Town Center on Thursday, June 21, at 6 p.m. Free. 360-1700.
