Tiny Renaissance



What do you call a show with spoken-word poetry, drumming, fashion design, filmmaking and artwork? A big one. Young artists from Richmond convene at Plant Zero to display their art and performances at Art 180's annual event, The Big Show, Wednesday, May 23, 6-8 p.m. The show highlights works created by Richmond youth during various art education programs, including documentary filmmaking by a group at The Boys & Girls Club of Church Hill, paintings and drawings from students at Ginter Park Elementary and stained-glass artwork and sculpture from students at the William Byrd Community House. On the performance stage, city youth present drumming and spoken-word poetry. Free. 233-4180. S
