The Weight at Mojo's

Saturday, Feb. 13.

Brooklyn-based band the Weight probably would be right at home playing its brand of alt-country rock in some seedy Southern bar with a barrage of thrown beer bottles (think Bob's Country Bunker from “The Blues Brothers”). Led by a former punk rocker named Joseph Plunket, the band's suds-swilling twang and no-nonsense rowdiness evoke the likes of the Replacements and Bruce Springsteen. On the road supporting its most recent album, “The Weight Are Men,” the band is scheduled to perform at Mojo's with openers the Fox Hunt and the Goddamn Rattlesnake at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13. $5.
