The Second Annual Jazz Age Preservation Ball

Saturday, Jan. 18. 7:30 p.m.

If I could go back to any period in American music history I’d pick the Roaring ‘20s. That fertile decade of music, style and dress set the course for the rest of the century. Seeing as there isn’t a time machine, the next best thing is the second annual Jazz Age Preservation Ball on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Bolling Haxall House. Thrown by the Art Deco Society of Virginia, the gala features performances by the Blue Crescent Syncopators, the burlesque flapper dancing duo the Garter Snaps and the tap-dancing wizardry of Mike Herring. There will be Charleston dance lessons, auctions and raffles to make this rumpus in Richmond a joyous journey back in time. The festivities commence at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 with proceeds benefiting the Byrd Theatre Foundation.
