The Richmond Bluegrass Festival

Saturday, Aug. 23. 2 p.m.

The Gwar B-Q and the Richmond Jazz Festivals are behind us, with Fall Line, 2nd Street and the Richmond Folk festivals just around the corner. Which begs the question: How many music festivals can one city have? If they’re as good as these, I suppose the answer is one a week. The Richmond Bluegrass Festival is up next on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. In its second year, the lineup includes homegrown pickers the Hot Seats, the Green Boys, Long Branch Ramblers, River City Band and Sturgeon City. Add to this the indigenous culinary delights of Bonbontruck, Hungry Turtle Food Truck, the Dog Wagon, as well as the handcrafted, fermented beverages that are Hardywood’s specialty, and you have the ingredients for a quality good time. The acoustic festivities begin at 2 p.m. Free. hardywood.com.
