The Weinstein JCC presents its second annual Israeli Film Festival, with four movies that focus on various aspects of Jewish history and culture. The films include “Three Mothers,” a story about the life and trials of the Hakim sisters, and “Precious Life,” a documentary about a Palestinian woman trying to save the life of her newborn son, who suffers from an immune-system disorder. Also playing are “Salsa in Tel Aviv,” a romantic comedy involving a salsa dancer falling for a married man, and “The Matchmaker,” in which a teenage boy comes of age in the underbelly of Haifa during the Six-Day War. All the films showcased have been nominated or won awards at festivals around the world. The Israeli Film Festival takes place at the Weinstein JCC on Jan. 21 and 22. “Salsa in Tel Aviv” will screen at Byrd Theatre. $8-$10 per film or $28-$36 for all four. 285-6500.
