The City's Moviegoers

comment
The city's moviegoers, for traveling miles to see the latest blockbuster.

We sympathize. The $7 tickets are bad enough, but it's starting to take a half tank of gas (two tanks in an SUV) per pilgrimage to get to one of those massive megaplexes on the outskirts of town. When you think about it, we're in essence driving to another city to see a film. Of course the Willow Lawn and the Ridge were past their prime, but where are their replacements? Last time we checked there were plenty of people living and working in Richmond. Why aren't there any places where they can sit through two hours of "The Hours," except where it takes about an hour to get there and back?
