I’m in the market for a new laptop, and I’m not sure whether to get a MacBook or just stick with the PC format. Help?
— James P., Carver
What a great question! I recently had to purchase a laptop so I could write my upcoming memoir “WonTon, the Bookstore Cat Who Didn’t Do Much At All.” PC laptops are much warmer to lie next to, but the MacBook keyboards are much firmer. It’s like sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic! Also, most laptops don’t come with mice.
I friended a girl on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, and even though we have a great back and forth in our status updates, we are awkward around each other in real life.

Have you tried poking her? No, wait, scratch that. Take her on a date: Secco on Saturday — bring your laptop and you can both enjoy my Caturday update on the Chop Suey fan page. Nothing nourishes a budding romance like a cat in a box!
I’ve been hearing a lot about the new e-readers. What would you recommend?
— Kendra S., Oregon Hill
Let me do some quick calculating here: $115 for the Kindle, plus $547 for your entire library on one device, plus you leaving your e-reader on the rim of a full bathtub equals me in a heap of trouble for seeing what happens when I nudge it a little to the left.
