Tangled Up in Nudes

In its last show of the season, VCU Dance considers those connections between people that leave us feeling naked, and occasionally chafed. "Sociometry," the Spring 2007 senior project dance concert, is the work of nine dance and choreography seniors, who each follow a strand of movement and theater to find, wrapped up at the end, the struggling Nude of Truth. Which takes many forms, of course: Eliza Diener-Brazelle's "After All" uses physical contact to explore female relationships; Cherish Thomas Horton's "Assemble Nine" is a Lego set come to life, the dancers moving and building; Criscia Richardson's "Oath" dives into nothing less than the creation of music; and Travis Steele Sisk's "Q(ueer) and A" uses disco and riots to detail the queer movement. They're the kind of knots any good Boy Scout would dig on unraveling, April 26-28 at the Grace Street Theater at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5-$10. 828-2020. S
